Often flowering over an incredibly long period, this hard-working, undemanding shrub is ideal for sunny spots – and will usually flourish where little else will grow. Forming a low, spreading mound, the rich green foliage acts as the perfect backdrop for the bright yellow flowers, which will look great when teamed with oranges, reds, purples and blues.
Garden care: Trim lightly after flowering, cutting the older stems to the base and removing weak, spindly growth. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted compost or manure around the base of the plant in spring.
