This beautiful cultivar is very similar to the ever-popular H. paniculata ‘Grandiflora’, but it’s slightly more vigorous in growth, and its showy flowerheads are a little larger and broader at their base. Each individual floret in the cluster is also quite large, and although they are initially greenish white, they develop a pink tinge as they age. Offering lashings of late summer and autumn colour, it is naturally multi-stemmed, however it can be trained to form a single stemmed specimen – or planted densely and grown as an informal, flowering hedge.
- Garden care: To enhance flowering prune hard in early spring, cutting back the previous season’s shoots to within a few buds of the permanent, woody framework of the plant.
- Humans: Skin allergen; Pets: Harmful if eaten
