A wonderful, deciduous, perennial clematis with deeply textured, crimped, light mauve to lavender flowers with pale yellow anthers, blooming from mid summer. Dark green leaves produce a lovely backdrop for this exquisite, free-flowering climber often considered as a living gift to remember a favourite pet or someone special. ‘Forget-me-not’ is an excellent variety for growing in containers.
- Garden care: In early spring cut back the previous year’s stems to a pair of strong buds about 15-20cm (6-8in) above ground-level and apply a slow-release balanced fertiliser and a mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the plant, avoiding the immediate crown.
